The Child Care Resource and Referral of South Central Wisconsin, Inc. is a private not for profit agency, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.  We offer services and information to families, child care providers, employers and the community to improve the quality and availability of early care and education in our service areas of Green, Rock and Walworth Counties.

In an effort to maintain high quality Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) services across Wisconsin, CCR&R agencies and Supporting Families Together Association (SFTA) are moving to a regional model that will create strong collaborations between CCR&R’s, within eight geographic regions.

As a result of these changes, Child Care Resource and Referral of South Central WI, Inc., located in Janesville and serving Green, Rock and Walworth Counties, will be merging with Community Coordinated Child Care, Inc. (4-C) on January 1, 2009. The staff, instructors, volunteers and Board of CCR&R of SCW should be commended for the truly dedicated and compassionate services they have provided to south central Wisconsin over the past 16 years!

Community Coordinated Child Care, Inc. (4-C), located in Madison, was chosen as the lead agency for the geographic region of the south central part of the state. 4-C will provide services to families, providers and the communities in an 8-county region that includes: Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Green, Jefferson, Rock, Sauk, Walworth Counties and the Ho-Chunk Nation. For the past year-and-a-half CCR&R of SCW has partnered with 4-C to conduct referrals. This has gone well. Beginning in 2010 local services to child care programs & communities, trainings, technical assistance and possibly family child care certification for Walworth County will be handled out of 4-C’s office in Madison.

In an effort to provide a smooth transition for families, child care programs and others, our two agencies will continue to work together closely.
