About Us

The Child Care Resource and Referral of South Central Wisconsin, Inc. is a private not for profit agency, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.  We offer services and information to families, child care providers, employers and the community to improve the quality and availability of early care and education in our service areas of Green, Rock and Walworth Counties.

We are proud to be a United Way funded organization, an accredited member of the Wisconsin Child Care Resource and Referral Network, and a member of the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRA).  Together we are committed to building an inclusive, high quality child care system.

Mission Statement:

The Child Care Resource and Referral of South Central Wisconsin, Inc. is committed to continually improving inclusive, high quality child care and early education throughout Green, Rock and Walworth Counties.

To achieve this mission we will:

•   Advocate for strong families by providing education and information for their childcare and early education decisions.

•   Support childcare providers through education and technical assistance.

•    Maintain a high level of childcare and early education by recruiting and educating quality providers.

•    Develop relationships and collaborating with community stakeholders to ensure that quality care is valued, understood and available.

Strong Families:

Child care is one of the most significant and earliest elements of a child’s education.  We strive to assist families in making those significant decisions in their child’s life, by providing referrals and information, including knowledge of the types of care that are available, signs of quality childcare and checklists of things to consider when looking for child care for their children.

Quality Child Care Providers:

Because child care is one of the most significant elements of a child’s early education, we strive to continually improve the pool of resources and knowledge that child care programs have access to. We offer continuing education on topics such as, but not limited to, health and safety, program enrichment, child development, diversity, professionalism, regulatory and business management issues.

By offering technical assistance and entry level training for potential child care providers allows us to maintain, and recruit, a high level of child care providers – ensuring parents have a choice and allowing for the promotion of quality care, not care just for the sake of care.

Collaboration:

We are working with a wide variety of community partners to promote quality child care. Some of our partners work with us in promoting quality care, others in the education of importance of quality child care and others in funding the previously stated efforts. We are continually evaluating our service area, how it’s changing, how it is projected to change and how we can assist the variety of community leaders meet the issues related to child care and early education, within their communities.
